The Sachal Jazz Ensemble is a Lahore jazz troupe, known for utilizing South Asian instruments. The ensemble is headquartered at Sachal Studios, a recording studio situated in the middle of Lahore’s electronics markets in an intentionally nondescript building. Inside, the recording studio works with the jazz ensemble as well as classical vocalists who are recorded with polish and grace. The Sachal Jazz Ensemble has toured the West in the last few years, and this recording is from one of these tours – performing an instrumental Sanun Nehr Alay Pul Te Bula Ke with Wynton Marsalis.
