When I last wrote about Kaavish, friend of the show Shaharyar Zia sent back this recording by Naad-e-Ali who I did not realize was Jaffer Zaidi’s brother. Both are of course, sons of Nayyara Noor. This is Naad-e-Ali singing a song previously sung by Nayyara Noor.
The difference between the two versions, aside of the vocal, is a subtle modernization of the instrumentation. The general transition here is the sort of effect I believe Sachal Studios was aiming for. Recording old-style melodies with a refreshed, subtle, better recorded musical arrangement.
I actually find that Naad-e-Ali’s version of Barkha more accurately captures the emotion of the words, and is easier to listen to because the instruments and beat are less pronounced.
