A friend of the show wrote to us recently to inquire about a few duplicates in the playlists. We regret the error if it slipped through. The short answer of why that might happen is that we have multiple people listening to dozens of songs, and occasionally we lose track of our bookkeeping. There have been a lot of new albums recently, from which multiple songs often feature. Together, the two patterns may give the impression that the playlists are no longer very thoughtfully human-curated. But I can assure that is not the case.

We thought it might be good to call out the new albums that are featured, as a way of situating why multiple songs from one release may be featured. In this playlist, you’ll see a number of songs from the soundtrack of Prime Video show Bait, featuring many Pakistani artists from the diaspora as well as the mainland. Abdul Hannan’s new EP Khasara, JANI’s new album Ephiphany and Aashir Wajahat’s EP Yours Truly are also highlighted in this playlist.
