Hamnawa Select August '21

Hamnawa Select is a periodical collection of our favorite Pakistani music. The playlist for August has hip hop, qawwali and vocal pop.

The strength and sheer volume of output of Pakistan’s hip hop scene means that a majority of this playlist is again rap. This includes biting commentary from Sunny Khan Durrani, as well as melodic rap from Boljani. Asrar and RFB feature with some fresh vocal pop. And I’ve included a qawwali from Zain Zohaib which is relevant to the month of Muharram.

A couple of the songs I wanted to feature, Anjaan and Why Not Meri Jaan are not available on Spotify yet.
