Three new albums that feature multiple songs on this month’s compilation:
Subah Aye Na by Atif Aslam – a much awaited full album from Atif, his first full album after Meri Kahani
Afterimage by Slowspin – a fresh take on what I might describe as neoclassical Eastern music
DESIGNERR by Jokhay and Umair – which is notable alone as the first full length album released as a collab between two of Pakistan’s biggest producers
Other than these three albums, the trend for a large variety of music being released at good pace continues. This is challenging our limited capacity to curate new songs. We try our best to really select down to songs that are notable by their quality, construction, social relevance, or historic nature. But increasingly there is a growing chance that we miss some songs that fit this criteria. In these instances, we actively invite your feedback to help us find what we miss. The goal is to create an accurate historical record of this moment in the Pakistani music scene. Your thoughts, feedback, and curation are much appreciated.
