Notable Pakistani music to end the year, on Spotify & YouTube.

Some notes:

• New albums from Bayaan, Jani, Talha Anjum & Umair, Jokhay and dabbay. There is a lot of music, and we’re reaching the point where it’s hard for us to keep up.

• Hassan & Roshaan keep pumping hits for their fans, it’s impressive.

• Jokhay’s new album is quite good.

• Naad e Ali Zaidi (son of Nayyar Noor, brother of Jaffer Zaidi) makes a return in a song with Abbas Ali Khan. His voice is still gold.

• If you go into the publishing details for new songs, you’ll see how many artists are now signed to international labels: Anjum, Jani, Bayaan, Umair, Hassan & Roshaan, NAYEL. This is a big change from the past, and changes the incentive structure of musicians as well as providing extra support for marketing, distribution and touring. Universal, Sony and Mass Appeal are the big labels already seeing new publishing.
