When I wrote about Ali Noor’s latest music, I talked about the domination of chorus over verse – of aphorism over story. Mooroo’s music is in direct contrast to that. His songs can at times be all verse. They slide from singing to rap to speaking. The music ends up being an extension of Mooroo’s work as a filmmaker – his vlog has a dedicated following. This recording with the folks at Bigfoot Music is no different.

Bigfoot Music has steadily put out a number of collaborations recently, being lauded for their volume of output. The music puts the funk stylings of producers Hamad Khan & Sohaib Lari (who play guitar and bass respectively) alongside various vocalists and guest musicians. This styling fits in well with Mooroo’s performance and lyrics – both of which string together levity and humor.
